NTA Extends NEET Application Last Date Again

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has, for the 3rd time this year,  extended the deadline to submit the online application for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (UG) - 2022 (NEET-UG-2022).

Revised last date to apply is 15th May 2022  20th May 2022 (by 09:00PM)

According to the notice published by the NTA yesterday, this extension was done to accommodate the request from the Office of the Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS).  The AFMS had earlier announced that candidates seeking admission to the B.Sc. (Nursing) course 2022 at the AFMS institutions shall have to apply to NEET-UG-2022. 

Date of NEET-UG-2022:  17th July 2022 (no change in date)

NEET-UG-2022 is mandatory for admission to MBBS/BDS courses in India in Medical/Dental Colleges. In addition, NEET-UG-2022 is required for admissions to all BAMS/BHMS/BUMS/BYMS courses in India and for all BVSc & AH (Bachelor of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry) courses under the 15% quota of VCI in recognized Veterinary Colleges.

Mode of NEET-UG-2022: Offline (pen & paper) OMR sheet based objective questions (180 Qns in 3hours 20 mins)

Key aspects of NEET-UG-2022:
- Test will be conducted in pen & paper mode across multiple test centres spanning India and abroad
- NEET-UG-2022 is mandatory for admissions to all MBBS/BDS/Ayush programs in India
- NEET-UG-2022 is only a test that provides a score using which candidates will need to apply either through Central Counseling or respective State counseling for admissions
- Candidates from UT of J&K are NOT eligible for 15% All India Quota seats.
- Candidates from UT of Ladakh are eligible for 15% All India Quota seats.
- NEET-UG-2022 shall be conducted in 13 languages (language option to be chosen while filling the form) - English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.
- GEN & GEN-EWS category students need to obtain min of 50 percentile marks (40 percentile for SC/ST/OBC candidates) to be eligible for admission to UG Medical Courses.
